Software Test Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer (STE) with strong troubleshooting and testing skills as well as some experience in test automation.  As an STE, you are responsible for analysis, design, execution, and documentation of specific software test plans and strategies. In cooperation with engineering and product management, you implement and apply test processes, testing practices and test tools used in troubleshooting, investigating and identifying issues with software. You work closely with Business Analysts, Developers and internal customers to review requirements, participate in delivery process, drive end-to-end product life-cycle testing and participate at all levels of product specification and design. You must be excited about quality, be able to easily determine what test case is required for various testing scenarios, able to function independently and enjoy working in a fast paced team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Prepare test plans and test documents required for testing and test automation
• Create test cases, test scripts, and test reports
• Identify, manage, and evaluate the documentation and deliverables required for each product to be tested
• Interface and interact with developers to resolve problems identified in product testing and quality assurance regarding software correctness and compliance with established product use/test cases and configuration rules
• Work with business analysts and developers to translate business requirements and functional specifications into test plans and test scripts
• Perform functional testing, UAT, and quality assurance activities associated with EV websites and applications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

• BA or BS in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience
• 3 or more years of QA experience, preferably in Windows/.NET environment
• 1 or more years of experience with test automation
• 1 or more years of experience testing web applications
• Familiarity with creating Visual Studio CodedUI Tests, Web Tests, and Unit Tests
• Some experience with C#, .Net, and OO programming
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle
• Experience with ASP.Net web applications
• Experience with Agile (SCRUM) Development Process
• Experience working with MS IIS
• Working knowledge of SQL Server 2008 including experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases
• Proven ability to efficiently design, implement and execute test plans/cases in accordance with best practices & techniques, gather results/metrics, record raw data, and prepare test results for various test methods including black box, white box, stress/load, data integrity, security, and automation
• Experience with defect, test case and source code management tools
• Familiarity with VSTS 2010 preferred
